StyleBrain Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 22, 2026

StyleBrain is a mobile workspace for assessing outfits, managing a wardrobe, organising store inventory, working with clients and reporting trends. This policy covers the current mobile app and the web version used as its preview.

Who is responsible for your data

The StyleBrain developer operates the app and is the controller of personal data processed by StyleBrain's own services. For privacy matters, contact bsinczuk@icloud.com. The current version does not require a user account managed by the developer.

Data stored locally

Most workspace data remains on your device or in your browser's storage. This may include outfit notes, wardrobe items, store products, preferences, saved decisions, client data entered by the user and product links. The developer does not receive this content unless the user starts a feature that requires a network connection.

Photo analysis

A full outfit assessment is optional. After the user gives explicit, one-time consent, the app reduces the size of the selected photo on the device, re-encodes it without EXIF metadata and sends it over HTTPS, together with the supplied outfit context, to a StyleBrain endpoint hosted on Vercel and then to the Google Gemini API. The sole purpose is to produce the requested assessment of the visible outfit. If consent is declined, the photo remains in the local preview; consent may be withdrawn later in Settings.

The StyleBrain endpoint does not save the photo as a file or in a library and does not log the request content. The analysis provider may, however, retain limited security logs required to detect abuse in accordance with the terms of its paid service. We therefore do not claim that all processing by every provider is immediate or entirely ephemeral. StyleBrain does not use the photo for advertising or to track the user across apps.

App launch measurement

When the app starts, it automatically creates a random session identifier and sends it over HTTPS to Centrala, a service operated by the developer. Centrala stores a hash of that identifier together with the day, source, referrer and browser family in order to count sessions and diagnose app performance. This measurement does not include a name, email address or photo content and is not used for advertising or tracking across apps or websites.

Purchases, access and limits

Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. StyleBrain does not receive payment card numbers. To confirm a plan, restore a purchase, enforce the monthly analysis limit, report sales and prevent abuse, the app and backend process a random app identifier, transaction metadata (such as a transaction or order identifier, purchase token or signed receipt), product, plan, platform, store, date and, where available, the amount and currency. The monthly usage counter is stored in Upstash Redis and expires when the next billing period begins.

Service providers

Depending on the feature used, data may be processed by Vercel (hosting and endpoints), Google Gemini API (photo analysis), Apple or Google (purchase and verification), Neon (the Centrala database), Upstash (usage counter) and Resend (technical purchase notifications to the operator). These providers process data to the extent necessary to deliver their services. StyleBrain does not sell data or use it for advertising.

Retention

Local data remains until the user deletes it. The monthly counter expires when the next period begins. Provider logs are retained according to their security and retention policies. Session and purchase records in Centrala remain for as long as necessary to measure app performance, provide access, handle billing and prevent abuse; we currently do not promise automatic deletion within 90 days. Earlier deletion may be requested as described below.

Children

StyleBrain is not directed at children. Do not enter children's personal data in the app.

Data deletion and your rights

Workspace data can be erased inside the app: Settings → App data → “Erase all my data”. That action removes the wardrobe, clients, history, photo-analysis consent and the purchase attribution identifier from the device; it does not cancel an active subscription, which is changed in the store. Workspace data is also removed by deleting the app or clearing StyleBrain's app/browser data. To request deletion of server-side data, see Deleting server-side data. You may also request access, rectification or restriction, or object to processing, to the extent provided by applicable law.
